"Die as I died" is a fiction horror story told at a high pace with the goal to make the reader sit like on needles and induce shivering throughout the body.
The author Alex and his wife Jenny are happily married and have a five-year-old daughter together. They live in a small two-room apartment in the city. Alex has long dreamed of moving out into the countryside where he lived as a child. But both the economy and the real estate market are limited. One day, Alex finds an ad in a local newspaper about a house in the middle of the forest that is for sale. He quickly gets hold of the broker and does the deal of his life when he manages to buy his dream home for a cheap price.
The family moves in but Alex soon discovers that something is not quite right. Who is the woman he spots outside the house? Their daughter starts to behave more and more strangely and the woman's presence is becoming increasingly strong. Who is she and what has happened in the house’s past? One night Alex meets the woman, eye to the eye and everything suddenly becomes frighteningly obvious.
“I was met with a look. The same look I've seen upstairs a while ago. Pure white, bloodshot eyes with black pupils large as peas. Of pure reflex, I took two steps back and fell. But I got up quickly and with the help of the pumping adrenaline in my body I twisted the key and tore up the door. But outside it was completely empty. Everything looked just like always and the only sound I heard was how the leaves slowly flew in the wind. I closed the door again and by the time the thoughts of madness had re-established themselves in the head I heard how the water from the shower upstairs began to flow."
